The Alawe of Ilawe-Ekiti

The paramount ruler of the Ekiti South West Local Government is His Royal Majesty, Oba Ajibade Alabi, Afuntade I, the Alawe of Ilawe-Ekiti. As the custodian of tradition, the Alawe plays a vital role in upholding cultural values and fostering unity among the people.

Quarter Chiefs and Their Roles

Supporting the Alawe are various quarter chiefs, appointed to oversee different districts. These chiefs are responsible for resolving local disputes, performing traditional rites, and acting as intermediaries between the people and the Alawe.

Traditional Festivals

The traditional institution organizes and oversees various festivals, including the Ogbele and Ayu festivals, which are important cultural events for the community. These festivals celebrate the history and spiritual heritage of Ekiti South West.
